World Mobile Partnership is Bringing ADA Payments to African Merchantsby Fintechnews Africa 10 March 2022
World Mobile Group, a global mobile network combining renewable energy with blockchain technology, partners with COTI, creator of the DJED stablecoin and ADA Pay, which allows merchants to accept ADA for their goods and services. Through the partnership, COTI brings ADA Pay to retailers and merchants in Africa and integrates stablecoin DJED into the World Mobile Ecosystem.
The World Bank pledged Universal Financial Access by 2020, but many are still left in the dark. In Africa, 95 million people don’t have access to banking services, severely stunting their ability to succeed financially. Without access to traditional banking services, such as opening a bank account or taking out a loan, many struggle to make a liveable income, severely affecting the economic growth of the continent.
World Mobile leverages COTI’s patent solutions to provide developing regions access to financial services. Using World Mobile’s network, COTI’s ADA Pay enables users to pay with ADA, giving individuals in remote areas access to new payment methods and empowering them with financial tools. By integrating DJED stablecoin into the World Mobile ecosystem, transactions become seamless and less volatile. ADA Pay has already integrated with various African NGOs and charities, and so far has processed nearly 100K ADA in donations.
World Mobile’s mission is to connect everyone, everywhere with core values of economic freedom, dignity and accessibility for all. Its network processes all of its transactions in the settlement layer on the Cardano blockchain, and also in the World Mobile Chain, a Cardano side-chain.
“The collaboration between our projects will lead to a better connected and tech-savvy Africa, with crypto mass adoption at the forefront,”
says Charles Barnett, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of World Mobile.
“World Mobile is proud to be able to partner with COTI to bring ADA Pay to the rest of Africa, and the world.”
“We are happy to be partnering with World Mobile for such a good cause,”
says Yair Testa, Head of Business Development at COTI.
“We believe that this partnership will start with the integration of ADA Pay and has the potential to expand to the integration of Djed and $COTI.”
