Description

The Online Merchant Acquiring Manager is a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for managing and expanding our online merchant partner portfolio. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with e-commerce businesses, streamlining onboarding processes, and optimizing payment solutions to drive transaction growth and revenue. We are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of the fintech industry, e-commerce trends, and a proven track record of achieving merchant acquisition targets.

Responsibilities
  • Merchant Acquisition:
  • Identify and target potential online merchant partners for the company.
  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire new merchants through networking, cold calling, and strategic partnerships.
  • Evaluate merchant suitability based on industry, risk factors, and compliance requirements.
  • Merchant Onboarding:
  • Lead the onboarding process for new merchant partners, ensuring a seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of merchants' online payment systems with the company's platform.
  • Provide guidance to merchants on optimizing payment processes, reducing fraud, and improving transaction efficiency.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing merchant partners to drive loyalty and retention.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for merchant inquiries, concerns, and escalations.
  • Collaborate with merchants to understand their needs and offer customized payment solutions.
  • Payment Solution Optimization:
  • Analyze transaction data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth and optimization.
  • Work with merchants to implement best practices and enhancements to improve transaction conversion rates.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes related to online payments and merchant acquiring in Ghana.
  • Analyze market data to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on emerging trends.
  • Reporting:
  • Generate regular reports on merchant performance for management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in merchant acquiring, e-commerce, or related roles within the fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of online payment systems, payment gateways, and e-commerce trends.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to think proactively and generate ideas and lead them from scratch.
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Familiarity with the Ghanaian financial and e-commerce landscape is a plus.

Technology Stack:

  • Knowledge in payment gateway platforms.
  • Familiarity with merchant service providers.
  • Competence in data analytics tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for managing and tracking merchant relationships.
  • Utilization of market research and analysis tools for staying updated with industry trends.
  • Experience with project management tools for task and project management.
