Country Manager



Payecards is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Manager to lead our operations in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working at a managerial level in a Nigerian bank, with a deep understanding of cross-border and local market card acquiring and payment methods. This role involves managing the local team and office, coordinating with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and handling our CBN requests from our payment company.

  • Local Team and Office Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the local office.
  • Lead and manage the local team, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Bank and Company Meetings:
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with local banks and companies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Central Bank Coordination:
  • Liaise with the Central Bank of Nigeria for all regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Manage and coordinate our payment license requests.
  • Market Expertise:
  • Stay updated on local market trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance Payecards' market presence and operations.
  • Card Acquiring and Payment Methods:
  • Oversee and optimize local and cross-border card acquiring processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local payment methods and schemes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a manager in a Nigerian bank.
  • Proven expertise in card acquiring, cross-border payments, and local payment methods.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian banking regulations and Central Bank of Nigeria requirements.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with digital payment systems and fintech solutions.
  • Knowledge of local and international card schemes.
  • Project management experience is an advantage.
