The highly anticipated second annual Finnovex East Africa Hybrid Summit is set to kick off this April 20-21, 2022.

The summit’s organiser Exibex said that it is preparing to host a gathering of 350+ attendees to hear from 20+ industry visionaries.

This 2-day summit is the 11th edition from the Finnovex Global Series which aims to shed light on front burner issues through a blend of fireside chats, panel discussions, and expert presentations.

This summit will discuss the rapidly evolving financial services ecosystem, the role of fintech and telecoms, importance of financial inclusion and imperative need of regulatory framework for healthy competition and growth among incumbents and new entrants.

Industry leaders from Standard Chartered Bank (Kenya), Central Bank of Uganda, Equity Bank (Kenya), African Export-Import Bank, National Bank of Commerce (Tanzania), Bank ABC (Zimbabwe), Zambia National Commercial Bank, and Access Bank (Rwanda) are among the esteemed list of speakers at this summit.

This will ensure that the attendees are able to hear from some of the most innovative players in the financial services ecosystem while also benefitting from extensive networking opportunities at this summit.

Some of the summit’s key sponsors include Microsoft, Infosys Finacle, Smarstream, Azentio, Moengage and Yellow.ai.

The summit is timely as the East African region has been making fundamental progress in financial inclusion through fintech where it is known as “the cradle of mobile money”.

This is evidenced by the mushrooming national financial inclusion councils composed of regulators and mobile operators that were initiated by countries like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda in an effort to further the financial inclusion cause.

Wole Odeleye, Technology Industry Lead, Financial Services at Microsoft said,

“We are delighted to partner with Finnovex in the much awaited 11th Edition of Finnovex East Africa Summit coming up in the next two weeks in Nairobi. We look forward to thought-provoking engagements on the ever disruptive world of technology and the real meaning of digital transformation.

The last two years have indeed proven just how volatile and complex the business environment can be and further demonstrated the value of technology in enabling continuity. We will be unpacking this and much more together with industry industry experts in Kenya at this key event, and we are keen to be part of this true knowledge exchange platform for the banking and finance sector in the region.”
